Probably one of those more tedious tasks in your Internet marketing business, aside from bookkeeping, is remembering to measure the results from each campaign you send out.

Tedious or not, it is very important to your success.

Don’t just measure the results by looking at orders in your PayPal account but look at the metrics provided by your email list server, and if you ran a pay per click (PPC) campaign, look at the metrics of that too.

The information you’re looking for are conversions, whether that is sales, or newsletter sign ups or something else. Whatever your hoped for result is your conversion. Another thing you’re looking for is how much did it cost you? What did you spend?  If you were selling a product what was your return on investment (ROI).

You also want to study how many clicks you got from your efforts. Some clicks will result in actual page views, some will result in bounces. How do the two compare. How many clicks did you get before you had a conversion?

Speaking of bounces, this is an important metric to study as well. If you had thousands of clicks, but a bounce rate of 75%, why? Is something wrong with your sales page, your copy, what is causing the bounces?

Sometimes bounces are caused by page errors, so you must also track errors because the last thing you want it to spend money on a PPC campaign only to have tons of errors that skew your conversion rates and ROI. Everything could be perfect about your entire campaign, but if the technology is not working, that can mean disaster.

If you have a search on your page, which you should, what are your site visitors searching for? This is a very important tool to have. If you can see what your visitors are searching for you can make sure to offer them exactly what they need if they did not find it that time.

If you have a shopping cart, you should also be checking how many people are stopping their sale after they put items in the cart. Is it because they could not see the price in advance, and now that they saw the price they bail? Is your shopping cart working correctly? Is your shopping cart confusing to use?

As you see there are many metrics you should look at each campaign because without this information you cannot improve. In fact if you seek to change anything about anything looking at your metrics can also prevent you from changing things that already work too.

One of the more frustrating issues Internet marketers have is after building up a huge email list of targeted subscribers, they still aren’t even opening their emails, much less reading what you are sending them. As an Internet marketer you work hard on creating useful information for your subscribers so naturally you get frustrated if no one is even reading them.

How can you make this situation better?

Don’t over sell – If every last email you send to your subscribers is selling something they will be trained to know that and if they’re not in a buying mood they’ll just click “delete” or worse “spam” after weeks of over selling.  I’m not saying don’t sell, I’m saying, pull them into your funnel don’t flood them out.

Pique curiosity – Creative and personalized subject lines can go a long way to getting people to at least take a look at your email. But be careful, do not lie in your subject line, nothing can make a subscriber madder than opening what promises to be an interesting email only to find yet another sales pitch. However, be creative and pique the subscribers’ curiosity but do it in an honest way so that you build trust.

It’s all in the timing – If you are not sending your emails at the right time of day then they can become hidden with all the other email that your subscribers receive each day. People get overwhelmed with the sheer volume of email, they will quickly scan subject lines, if nothing is interesting, they click away. Avoid this problem by sending your emails at the right time.

If you know your niche and you should, you should also find a way to find out the best time for them to read your emails. You can try different times of the day and check your metrics to find out the best times for your subscribers but depending upon your niche you can also make some educated guesses on when they might be at their computer reading email — THAT is the time you want to send it.

You’ve heard it and yes it’s true…  The money is in the list!

And if you don’t have an email list, then you really are missing out on potentially thousands of dollars in extra profits each and every week.

Many online business owners make a significant percentage of their profits from list marketing, and you should be to.  However what puts most people off is just how long it can take to build and develop a mailing list from scratch.

Now we realize that for many readers, time can be an issue.  In fact you can probably relate to some of these comments we hear regularly when list building is being discussed:

“I’ve been trying to build my list, but I can’t seem to do it! I’ve spent countless hours already…So what’s next?”

..or

“I wish I could build my list faster, yet retain the quality of the list”

Those are all common issues and rapid growth vs.  list quality  does require somewhat of a delicate balancing act.  (let’s face it, pretty much anyone can build a huge list, but if the subscribers are untargeted then they will be largely unresponsive to your emails.)

… One of the best (yet often overlooked) methods of list building is to simply let other people build it for you.  Lists built by recommendation and word of mouth can perform much better than lists built from ‘cold’ traffic – but it’s got to be done right…

And that’s exactly what you’re going to discover in the new video series that’s just been released called “Viral List Breeder!”  Check out full video series - Click Here For Viral List Breeder
